A notice has been filed in the Federal Register announcing a public hearing on the topic of the National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories (NEIDL). The meeting will take place on Thursday, April 19, 2012, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Roxbury Community College, 1234 Columbus Avenue, Boston, MA 02120, in order to solicit comments on the draft supplementary risk assessment. Comments provided during the meeting, as well as those received during the public comment period, will be considered in the development of the Final Supplementary Risk Assessment for the National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories. An agenda will be published closer to the date of the meeting.
A proposed Draft Supplementary Risk Assessment for the NEIDL (available here) will be discussed. Included is a Reader’s guide. The NIH will accept comments on the draft supplementary risk assessment beginning February 23, 2012, through May 1, 2012.
