Prioritizing Issues in ITEMS

Within ITEMS is an issues prioritization tool. This tool allows your institutional/organizational ITEMS account manager to prioritize the order in which InfoEd addresses the issues to be resolved. Once ITEMS users are acquainted with and have made use of the tool, it becomes an invaluable technology for addressing and managing changing priorities.

For those that are not familiar with the Prioritization Tool or its functionality, here are a few answers to questions we frequently receive, and some helpful tips to get you going:

How do I view my Priorities?

The Client Prioritization page is accessible from within the Client Portal. After logging into ITEMS you will see the standard ITEMS tab. Look for the “Prioritize” tab on the lower left hand side of the page. This page displays all open issues for your institution and the current priority your ITEMS account manager has assigned to that issue. Also displayed is the standard information about the issue that was submitted.

How do I set a priority for an issue if I had skipped the automatic prioritization request upon submission?

If you go into the Prioritization Page from your Client Portal, you will see a column labeled Sort. The numbers in the drop boxes represent the priority given to that issue. This is where you can edit all prioritization if necessary.

What are the filters at the top of the Prioritization Page?

The filers at the top of the Prioritization Page allow you to filter and display only certain classes of issues:

  • Module Filter
This allows you to view all open issues within a selected module. If, for example, you set this to Proposal Tracking you will only see issues submitted for the PT module. The issues will appear in order of priority and will include all of the information displayed on the original priorities page.
  • Enhancements
This filter allows you to choose if you would like to include enhancements on the list you are viewing. If you select “Not included,” no enhancement items will appear in the list.
  • Include Action Required
The checkbox for “Include Action Req” filters out of the view any issues that InfoEd is holding while waiting on institutional action, thus displaying only the issues on which InfoEd can and is actively working.
  • Include Fixes
The checkbox for ‘Include Fixes’ filters out any issues that have resolutions available. Once work has been completed, issues fall into this category and no longer require prioritization.

Please contact InfoEd Client Support if you have any questions or concerns, or would like more information about the ITEMS prioritization tool.
