The Moffitt Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Tampa, Fla., has developed a new computerized system to better match registered patients to oncology trials. Parameters such as disease, diagnosis, symptoms, demographics, family history, and the molecular profile of a patient’s own tissue or tumor specimens can be used to find appropriate treatment protocols. Once a patient is enrolled on a trial, the system can track the course of their disease to better understand whether the treatment is effective. Read the full press release here.
