On October 3, 2012, the National Academies’ Government-University-Industry Research Roundtable (GUIRR) will host a special webinar on the National Science Foundation (NSF) Innovation Corps (I-Corps) program.
There is significant interest in public-private partnerships, engaging academic researchers in the direct business application of their work, and establishing business support for the research infrastructure. As this arrangement may be new to both parties, the I-Corps program helps to build that perspective, starting with specific NSF-funded, basic-research projects that have commercial potential. The expectation is that this will lead to business ventures that will commercialize technology that originated from those NSF-funded projects.
This informational session will be beneficial to researchers and well as business representatives who are looking for ways to expand their public-private partnerships, and will include information on how to participate specifically in the I-Corps program.
The webinar is open to the public, however advance registration is required.
