The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) read a statement before the House Committee on Energy and Commerce’s Subcommittee on Health today entitled, “Promoting Anti-Infective Development and Antimicrobial Stewardship through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) Reauthorization”. The statement can be viewed here. Previously, the IDSA had sent a letter to House leaders on behalf of 50 research and advocate organizations urging addressing the antimicrobial resistance of currently available drugs, and seeking support for further research.
