February 17, 2012, is the deadline to submit public comments on the Physician Payment Sunshine Provision of the Affordable Care Act, which would require companies whose products are covered under CMS’ public benefit programs to report virtually all payments and other “transfers of value” to physicians and teaching hospitals. Contractual payments for clinical trials and many other research-related activities are covered by the proposed rule.
