BMJ Recommends Disciplinary Action for Researchers Who Fail to Publish

An editorial published by the British Medical Journal on January 3, 2012, explores the problem of “missing” data from clinical trial results that go unpublished. A study led by researchers at the Yale School of Medicine found that a third of trials in a sample of NIH-supported research were still not published more than four years after completion.
